Editorial Policies

Peer Review Process

All unsolicited articles submitted to the journal undergo an initial process of categorization according to the specialty by the Editor-in-Chief/ Co-Editor, and then sent to the relevant editorial committee members to be reviewed. The articles are inserted into a Double-blind Peer Review Process where each article is reviewed by two Reviewers. If the article is of a highly specialized nature, it will be sent to a Specialist Reviewer as well, on a similar double-blind modality.

Following the peer review process, if any revisions are needed prior to acceptance for publication, the Editor-in-Chief/Co-Editor would write to the author/s suggesting that the manuscript be appropriately amended and resubmitted. The author/s would be given a period of a fortnight (two weeks) to resubmit the revised article.

Editorials are written by the Editor-in-Chief/Co-Editor. They may also invite a reputed authority on a given subject to write an Invited Editorial.

The Editors may also invite experts in the field of perinatology or related fields to contribute in the form of Leading or Review articles. All such solicited articles are assessed by the Editors and may be revised, when necessary. They are not peer-reviewed.

Any articles submitted by the Editors, or a member/ members of the Editorial Board will be reviewed independently without any participation of the author/ authors concerned. If necessary, one or more independent external reviewers may be recruited. In this case, the authors do not take part in any of the decision-making processes.
